Julia Bradbury's Walks with a View in Dorset

Back in October ITV descended on Dorset to film Julia Bradbury's Walks with a View.

The lovely Julia Bradbury is very familiar to use through her time on BBC's Countryfile. In this new series Julia choose some of very favourite locations that are accessible and most importantly with a wonderful view

In this episode she scales Golden Cap.

As part of the National Trust estate Golden Cap hugs the Jurassic Coast, Britain's only natural World Heritage Site.  This part of the coast covers 95 miles and tracks  185 million years of the Earth's history.  From a distance this wonderful walk is identifiable by it's flat like top and on a clear day you can see across Lyme Bay to Dartmoor.

You can walk up Golden cap from different direction depending on how energetic you feel.  Seatown is an obvious choice and will take you 30 minutes or so to cover the 1 and a bit miles.

However, if you have a few more hours you could stay and start your walk at Newlands Holiday Park.  There are a few more hills to climb but the scenery along the South Coast Path is quite breath-taking.

The wider estate is a rich with wildlife meadows, hedges and streams.  The shady woodland of Langdon Hill,  is carpeted in bluebells in spring.

The programme was aired on Friday 4 MArch on ITV.
