Lyme Regis goes art crazy every year in September, as over 100 shops, cafes and other venues are transformed into temporary galleries showcasing the best of local art. 2. Fossil Hunting without the crowds
Though many fossil hunters uncover fantastic finds in the summer, unquestionably the best time to do it is in autumn and winter. The rougher seas and more inclement weather at this time of year wears away the cliffs, exposing new fossils that have lain hidden in the rock for millions of years. So there’s more to find, and fewer people looking!
3. Food, glorious food!
