It’s finally arrived – August Bank Holiday weekend is upon us, and we’re really excited to meet the new guests who are heading down for the long weekend, plus some familiar faces who have stayed with us before and are returning to Newlands for a late
Dorset camping holiday this year.
The weather hasn’t been the best so far today, but it’s forecasted to clear up nicely on Saturday and Sunday, so we’re expecting some lovely sunshine which should please all our campers no end!
As for activities over the weekend, you’ll be spoilt for choice for things to do both here at the park and further afield. Fossiling Family Week at Monkton Wyld Court (between Axminster and Charmouth) starts on Sunday, with plenty of food, fun and games for budding fossil hunters young and old. Meanwhile in Weymouth, there will be the final firework display of the year taking place in the bay on Monday, so head to the beach for the best vantage point!
As for us here at Newlands, this is our schedule for the bank holiday weekend:
Kids Club starts Friday morning, and will continue in the evening from 7:30. The theme this week is circus, so its big top crafts and clown colouring in the morning, and in the evening there will be the Big Top Show and the disco with Dino Dan. He loves a good disco, and he’s quite the mover on the dancefloor!
The main entertainment on Saturday night will be provided by a local band, so it should be a good one for music fans!
On Sunday there will be a children’s entertainer, followed by a singer.
Finally on Monday, there will be kids club in the morning and evening and also an appearance by The Twurzels, the UK’s finest Wurzle tribute band, who will be dropping by to entertain us with their rural sing-a-long tunes, and will still be here on the Tuesday.
