We highly recommend a day trip to Lyme Regis whilst staying at our campsite near Charmouth. This highlight of the Jurassic Coast is a perfect example of a traditional Dorset fishing town with its winding streets and picturesque old buildings. The town’s harbour wall (‘The Cobb’), is world famous and has been used as a backdrop in several movies, including the Oscar-winning 1981 adaptation of The French Lieutenant’s Woman, starring Meryl Streep.
