As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our Dorset holiday park we often use the months during off-peak season to upgrade the site. This year has been no exception with work carried out over the winter months to make several new and exciting upgrades to Newlands. The improvements will help to enhance the stay for our guests taking a holiday at our Charmouth location in a number of ways.
Here’s a rundown of our park improvements this year…
Leisure complex patio and entrance
Many of our regular guests will know that we've made considerable improvements to our leisure complex facilities over the last year. Now we are delighted to be able to add a newly developed outside patio area and entrance to the complex. In-line with the government roadmap to reopening hospitality for outdoor service the timing of the patio completion could not have been more perfect. We hope our guest shave enjoyed the stunning countryside views whilst dining al fresco!
Super seasonal pitches
As you can see below our pitches have undergone some major maintenance work. We've added water and drainage on larger pitches, as well as tarmac and the addition of electric points to the yellow and blue field.
Bases for new static caravans (arriving soon)
We have developed our holiday home section at Newlands with new bases arriving soon for some of the brand new static caravans on the site. If you're interested in owning your very own home from home on the Jurassic Coast – take a look at our holiday homes for sale.
New chef and a very famous guest!
We’ve recently appointed a new chef who was given something of an unexpected surprise. Not long in the job and our new chef had the task of cooking an evening meal and breakfast for none other than TV celebrity Bear Grylls. Bear was filming in the local area and we had the pleasure of welcoming him for a stay at Newlands. Bear was a true gentleman and took time to speak to members of the team who found him very friendly. He commentated "What a lovely spot you have here" about the views from the park and that he "slept really well".
The new chef was delighted to cook an evening meal and breakfast baps for Bear and the team, outside of course - where else would Bear eat! We all wish Bear well with his latest filming adventures and are sure he will "Smash it out the Water" with viewings!
Since re-opening the new chef has been busy preparing food for both our takeaway and outside dining menus. The new patio has really come into its own on the warm April weather we’ve been having.
We’ve been delighted to welcome the first guests to arrive on the park following the winter break. Let’s all hope for a long and safe summer of happy holidays this year!
