Jurassic Coast Camping - How to Spend the Perfect Weekend in Charmouth

When summer comes around we all start to feel the holiday urge tugging away at us, but actually organising a family break is not always easy. Finding a good time to take off work when the kids are on holiday can be tricky, and recent surveys show that many Britons are unable to switch off on their holidays because they’re too worried about what’s going on back in the office! The antidote to these holiday woes is the weekend break. You get two days of fun and relaxation and a welcome change ...

Dog Friendly Accommodation in Dorset

We know how much it means to be able to take the family on holiday in the summer, and for many of us that means the whole family – pets and all! With this in mind, we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible to bring your dog to the park with you, and ensure that they are able to enjoy the holiday just as much as you do! Here’s why we think Newlands is the ultimate dog friendly campsite in Dorset... The Perfect Park For Pooches We love dogs, and we really like to lay out the red carpet for ...

Charmouth Camping - Something for Everyone!

Ask 100 people what camping means to them, and you’ll most likely get 100 wildly different responses. It’s something that people often have really strong thoughts about, even if they’ve never actually done it. For some of us it evokes positive associations with nature, freedom and the great outdoors, while for others it conjures memories of camping trips from our school days, with difficult to assemble tents, bad weather and  equally bad food. Well we’d like to urge you to put aside any ...

VAT Rise on Static Caravan Sales Shelved!

We were really pleased to hear recently that the government has now back-tracked on their plans to increase the VAT on static caravan sales later this year. Along with the much maligned ‘pasty tax’, the ‘caravan tax’ was introduced in the budget earlier in the year, but after some determined campaigning from caravan park owners and many others in the tourism industry, they have decided to raise the VAT by just 5% instead of the planned 40%. Obviously this is great news for anyone ...

Family Days Out in Dorset When it's Raining

The English weather strikes again! We’re now in June and instead of beautiful sunny skies, the weather here in Dorset is like standing in the middle of a car wash! Of course, just because the weather is bad, that’s no reason to waste a day of your caravan holiday stuck in your caravan or camper. We’re lucky enough to have a fine selection of indoor attractions both in Lyme Regis and nearby in Dorset which will keep you entertained while keeping you out of the rain. What are your ...

Cycling Dorset's Beautiful Countryside

West Dorset is a cyclist’s dream. The area has many purpose built cycle paths, with lots of easy, relaxing routes that are suitable for inexperienced cyclists and families with small children. Cycling is one of the best ways to explore the countryside, especially during the summer months when the long sunny days make it an absolute joy to be outdoors. As well as the spectacular scenery, one of the great things about cycling in Dorset is that there are so many great spots to stop for ...
