Durdle Door is one of the most iconic natural landmarks on the Jurassic Coast and one of the most photographed beauty spots in the UK. The limestone arch has been shaped by thousands of years of coastal erosion - a must see during any visit to Dorset. Nearby, visitors can enjoy the picturesque Man O' War Beach, which not only offers stunning views but also serves as a popular destination for swimming and leisure.

Lulworth Cove

Lulworth Cove is a stunning natural formation located just 10-minutes drive from Durdle Door. This horse-shoe shaped cove boasts pristine, crystal-clear waters and is encompassed by picturesque steep hills and cliffs. Its unique shape makes it a must-see attraction along the breathtaking Jurassic Coast. Visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of this natural wonder by taking leisurely walks along the coastline, venturing out for a spot of kayaking, or simply relaxing and taking in the stunning views. The Cove provides a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Old Harry Rocks

Old Harrys rock is made up of a series of chalk formations. The towering white rocks against the deep blue sea create a mesmerising sight, especially at sunset. The area is popular for coastal walks and birdwatching, offering panoramic views of the coastline and the Isle of Purbeck. Consider taking a leisurely stroll from either Studland or Swanage across Ballard Down. As you walk, you'll be treated to picturesque views of the coast.

Exploring the Jurassic Coast offers an exhilarating opportunity to engage in fossil hunting. This stunning region is a treasure trove of prehistoric remnants, boasting an array of fossils such as ammonites, belemnites, and even traces of dinosaurs. Visitors can partake in fossil hunting tours and experiences, providing them with the chance to personally unearth these ancient treasures. The best places to fossil hunt on the Jurassic Coast are the rocky cliffs in Lyme Regis and Charmouth. For those interested in viewing some of the most famous fossils found in the area, a visit to the Museum of Jurassic Marine Life at Kimmeridge is highly recommended.

Local Wildlife

The Jurassic Coast is a remarkable geological site that also serves as a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. Visitors can enjoy sightings of a wide range of bird species, such as peregrine falcons and seabirds. The coastal waters are also inhabited by seals and dolphins, offering wildlife enthusiasts the chance to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural environment. Explore the marine life in the rock pools and beneath the waves and take advantage of the protected areas along the coast for activities including snorkelling and diving.

'Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff!'

'Friendly staff, the staff in the shop was incredibly welcoming! Loved how we were escorted to our pitch and also offered help with putting the caravan on the pitch. Swimming pool was small but ideal, good sauna! Outdoor pool was lovely also! Facilities were spotless considering we had awful weather they work extremely hard! Very clean site, great value for money!'

"Definitely will be back"

Good location with Charmouth beach and lyme regis near. Nice facilities on site and nice rooms. The tow bar restaurant is a gem with great food. Liked the activities on our stay like bingo. Overall a good stay and would love to come back again.

"Everything we needed"

Very tidy site, well laid out and well equipped. Towbar restaurant offered a good selection of quality food at all meal times, very good value for money and super friendly service. There is a small shop on site for all your essentials with access to another slightly larger shop in the village. Two pools and children’s play areas plus a gaming room were a real bonus. Shower and toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and always kept in good order. Location is fantastic, especially for avid fossil hunters with Charmouth beach around 20 minutes easy walk away through the village.

"What a wonderful place"

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Newlands. We stayed in the studio apartment block down the end (A17). The apartment was incredibly clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay. My twin sons (3.5 years old) had the twin room, mum had the double bed, and I stayed on a blow up mattress that I brought with. We were very comfy.
