Lyme Regis Aquarium

An Immersive Marine Adventure

Lyme Regis Aquarium is a hidden gem for marine enthusiasts. Couples will appreciate the aquarium’s cozy and quiet atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely day by the sea. Begin with a walk along the rocky shoreline to see the fascinating marine exhibits, showcasing everything from exotic lobsters to colorful anemones, which are native to the area.

For families, the aquarium goes beyond observation with hands-on experiences that make the day even more memorable. Kids will love the unique chance to hand-feed the shoals of friendly grey mullet, meet “Harry” the curious hermit crab, and hold a starfish in the touch pool. The aquarium also features interactive displays about Lyme Bay’s ecosystem and fishing history, giving both young and old the opportunity to learn about the ocean life and the importance of marine conservation. These interactive moments create lasting memories for families and add a deeper layer of connection to the Jurassic Coast.

Extend Your Adventure in Lyme Regis

After your aquarium visit, make time to explore the charm of Lyme Regis. Known for its winding lanes and vibrant beachside culture, the town offers something for everyone. Couples and families alike can enjoy lunch at local spots like The Harbour Inn for fresh seafood, or stop by The Bell Cliff Restaurant for traditional British fare. For families wanting something casual and quick, SWIM on the beach is a great choice, offering a relaxed menu with a view of the sea.

A Scenic Stroll in the Langmoor and Lister Gardens

Complete your visit with a stroll through the Langmoor and Lister Gardens, a short walk from the aquarium. These beautifully landscaped gardens offer couples a quiet retreat with breathtaking views over the Cobb and the Jurassic coastline. Families can wander the paths, take in the colorful flower beds, and capture a few family photos overlooking the bay. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a day by the sea.

Unwind at Newlands Holidays

After your adventure in Lyme Regis, retreat back to Newlands Holidays, where relaxation awaits. Families can settle into spacious lodges or self-catering apartments that offer room to unwind and make yourselves at home. 'Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff!'

'Friendly staff, the staff in the shop was incredibly welcoming! Loved how we were escorted to our pitch and also offered help with putting the caravan on the pitch. Swimming pool was small but ideal, good sauna! Outdoor pool was lovely also! Facilities were spotless considering we had awful weather they work extremely hard! Very clean site, great value for money!'

"Definitely will be back"

Good location with Charmouth beach and lyme regis near. Nice facilities on site and nice rooms. The tow bar restaurant is a gem with great food. Liked the activities on our stay like bingo. Overall a good stay and would love to come back again.

"Everything we needed"

Very tidy site, well laid out and well equipped. Towbar restaurant offered a good selection of quality food at all meal times, very good value for money and super friendly service. There is a small shop on site for all your essentials with access to another slightly larger shop in the village. Two pools and children’s play areas plus a gaming room were a real bonus. Shower and toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and always kept in good order. Location is fantastic, especially for avid fossil hunters with Charmouth beach around 20 minutes easy walk away through the village.

"What a wonderful place"

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Newlands. We stayed in the studio apartment block down the end (A17). The apartment was incredibly clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay. My twin sons (3.5 years old) had the twin room, mum had the double bed, and I stayed on a blow up mattress that I brought with. We were very comfy.
