Scenic Strolls and Breathtaking Views

Sidmouth’s Jurassic Coastline provides a wealth of trails for walking enthusiasts, from coastal paths to peaceful countryside routes. One of the best views in Sidmouth awaits at Jacob’s Ladder, a charming beach located on the west end of town. Named after the distinctive white stairway leading from Connaught Gardens to the beach below, Jacob’s Ladder is perfect for a romantic stroll or a family walk along the sands. Climb up to Connaught Gardens to enjoy sweeping views of the coast, with plenty of seating and spaces for a picnic.

Family Fun at The Donkey Sanctuary

No trip to Sidmouth is complete without visiting The Donkey Sanctuary - a free, family-friendly attraction just a short drive from town. The sanctuary is home to hundreds of rescue donkeys, each with a unique personality, and visitors can meet the gentle animals while learning about the sanctuary’s incredible work. With scenic walking trails, a lovely café, and a gift shop, it’s an enjoyable stop for families and animal lovers. Kids will love seeing the donkeys up close, and adults will appreciate the peaceful setting amidst rolling countryside.

Treat Yourself at Taste of Sidmouth

After some exploration, treat yourself to a delicious local favorite at Taste of Sidmouth, an ice cream parlor on the High Street known for its rich, handmade flavors. From classic vanilla to unique local creations, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Perfect for couples enjoying a leisurely day out or families in need of a refreshing treat, this ice cream spot is a Sidmouth staple. Enjoy your cone while strolling along the Esplanade for the full Sidmouth experience.

Explore Sidmouth’s Local Shops and Boutiques

Sidmouth’s charming town center is filled with unique shops, boutiques, and cafes to explore. Pick up a keepsake from a local artisan shop, browse Sidmouth’s bookstores, or grab a coffee at one of the many inviting cafes. Whether you’re on a romantic weekend away or a family day out, there’s something to enjoy for everyone.

'Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff!'

'Friendly staff, the staff in the shop was incredibly welcoming! Loved how we were escorted to our pitch and also offered help with putting the caravan on the pitch. Swimming pool was small but ideal, good sauna! Outdoor pool was lovely also! Facilities were spotless considering we had awful weather they work extremely hard! Very clean site, great value for money!'

"Definitely will be back"

Good location with Charmouth beach and lyme regis near. Nice facilities on site and nice rooms. The tow bar restaurant is a gem with great food. Liked the activities on our stay like bingo. Overall a good stay and would love to come back again.

"Everything we needed"

Very tidy site, well laid out and well equipped. Towbar restaurant offered a good selection of quality food at all meal times, very good value for money and super friendly service. There is a small shop on site for all your essentials with access to another slightly larger shop in the village. Two pools and children’s play areas plus a gaming room were a real bonus. Shower and toilet blocks were cleaned regularly and always kept in good order. Location is fantastic, especially for avid fossil hunters with Charmouth beach around 20 minutes easy walk away through the village.

"What a wonderful place"

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Newlands. We stayed in the studio apartment block down the end (A17). The apartment was incredibly clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a short stay. My twin sons (3.5 years old) had the twin room, mum had the double bed, and I stayed on a blow up mattress that I brought with. We were very comfy.
